The ‘American Soul’ drama series on BET Networks is about the untold story of the launch of the first nationally syndicated Black music show ‘Soul Train’. Attending the screening of ‘American Soul’ at the New World Stages in Manhattan, NY was an epic moment.
‘Soul Train’ was spearheaded by Founder, Producer and Host, Don Cornelius, that featured some of the most talented Artists and Dancers of that time. No one knew how hard it was to get ‘Soul Train’ started. This series will be going into depth from start to finish of the iconic dance show.
Don Cornelius’ Son, Executive Producer of ‘American Soul,’ Tony Cornelius played a huge role of getting the actors on board for the re-enactment of the behind the scenes of ‘Soul Train’. Don Cornelius is being played by Sinqua Walls best know for his role in ‘Power’ as Kanan’s son. Kelly Price has a starring role as an upcoming singer’s mom, as well as Kelly Rowland playing the legendary Gladys Night.
