On Wednesday, October 2nd, XXXTentacion’s estate released a visual for the slain rapper’s single “Royalty”. It is a Caribbean inspired visual that features Stefflon Don, Ky-Mani Marley and the iconic Reggae/Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel. The visual is directed by Damian Fyffe who has also directed videos for DJ Khaled and Rihanna.
“Royalty” has imagery of Kingston, Jamaica in which X stated that this is where his family is from in the beginning of the visual. The song has a powerful message that speaks about rags to riches and having royalty flowing in their bloodline in the chorus. The visual and single shows a different side of X as he tapped more into his cultural roots.
The “Royalty” single is the first to be released off of X’s forthcoming LP, ‘Bad Vibes Forever’. The album will be the first one released since after his death which includes features from Lil Wayne, Lil Nas X and Blink-182.
